New Emoji Release to Feature ‘Italian Hand Gesture

The Unicode Consortium has shared the 117 new emojis that will be released in 2020.

According to CNN, the big theme appears to be gender inclusivity.

New emojis like the transgender flag, a gender-neutral Santa and a man wearing a wedding veil made the cut.

Also, a popular hand gesture called “Italian hand gesture” is also being released.

It’s the pinched fingers often used to express confusion, disbelief or rejection.

Some other emojis include ninjas, mammoths, bubble tea, a human heart and a smiley face shedding a single tear.

CNN says the emojis will be rolled out with the Emoji 13.0 release later this year, which is likely to happen in the fall.
