An easy make ahead appetizer to get your party started!
1 ¼ CUPS BREADCRUMBS – flavored or unflavored
3 TBS BUTTER – melted
2 PACKAGES (8 oz each) CREAM CHEESE
3 EGGS – room temperature
2/3 CUP MAYONNAISE
2 TBS FLOUR
12 OZS CRABMEAT – fresh, drained, flaked
1 ¼ CUPS MUENSTER CHEESE – shredded
1/3 cup fresh Italian basil – minced
1 JAR (2 oz) PIMIENTOS – diced, drained
In a small bowl mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter and stir until well combined. Press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan and set aside.
Beat cream cheese with your heavy-duty mixer at high speed until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time fully incorporating one egg before adding the next. Add mayonnaise and flour and mix until well blended. Stir in the crabmeat, cheese, basil, and pimientos.
Pour into prepared springform pan and bake uncovered for 55-65 minutes or until the center is set.
Cool to room temperature in the pan on a wire rack. Then cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours until ready to serve. To unmold, slide a butter knife along the inside of the pan and then slowly release the sides of the pan.
