The Italian fried Mozzarella sandwiches or Mozzarella in Carrozza. Based on the simplest ingredients, a real triumph of Italian cuisine.
SERVINGS: Serves 4
INGREDIENTS:
- 8 bread slices
- 8 slices mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg
- all-purpose flour to taste
- extra virgin olive oil to taste
PREPARATION:
- Remove the crust from the slices of bread and soak them lightly in the milk.
- Put between the two slices of bread, two slices of Mozzarella and two anchovy fillets.
Press together so that the sandwich sticks well: you can lay the bread slides in the flour just before you dip them in beaten egg. - Dip the edges in beaten egg with a little milk and then fry in abundant oil, turning them so that they are golden all over.
- Serve hot.
