Family and Holidays Featured Italian Dinner

Happy 4th of July

We are all at the beach for our annual family beach vacation. As I’ve been mentioning because there are 21 of us, we never ever make plans to go out to eat.  That would be too much of a hassle and most chaotic. As an alternative we’ve had a plan that has worked for us for more than 20 years….each night a different family cooks. It is their menu and music. For the past 2 years the grandchildren have taken a night and it has been rewarding to see their comfort in the kitchen.

However, today is the 4th of July and it has been a day of traditional events for our family. We will all grab our Flags as we head down to the beach wearing some significant T-shirt, where we will wait to cheer as the “fighter jets” fly over usually around 1:30pm. It is 40 seconds of awesomeness!

Beach, were we go on 4th of July

Our dinner on the 4th, thanks to daughter Claudia and sil Gary has been a traditional all-American fare which includes 3 different types of sliders, corn on the cob, slaw, watermelon and apple pie.

Fitfully fed, we again head down to the beach to wait for the fireworks and because we never get enough of beautiful fireworks we scramble back to the house to watch the annual event from New York City.

All I can add to this day is how fortunate we are to be living in this wonderful Country we call America.  With all its faults it is still a most amazing place to be a part of.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA

GOD BLESS AMERICA

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

BUON MANGIATA!
