How to make ITALIAN BEST PIZZA SAUCE

The best pizza sauce recipe. Actually, there are more than one. Simmering to perfection and perfectly seasoned, you can use this sauce for pasta too.

THE BEST PIZZA SAUCE RECIPE FROM SCRATCH

  • 1 cup
  • homemade tomato sauce
  • 2 TBS white wine
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-1/2 tsp onion powder
  • li1-1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1-1/2 tsp basil
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar, packed

Place all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil and simmer until desired consistency if achieved. Remove from the heat to cool. Place in the refrigerator overnight for the best flavor.

NOTE:
You may add homemade cayenne pepper if you want the crust spicy. You may also add fresh or dried basil and oregano in the crust.

EASY PIZZA SAUCE

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Don’t want sauce on your pizza? Here’s a delicious substitution that’s fantastic.

PIZZA WITH GARLIC AND OIL

  • 1/2 recipe for basic pizza dough
  • 4 TBS olive oil
  • 2 TBS minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Prepare and roll out the pizza dough as directed, but make it much thinner than a regular pizza. Place on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Brush with olive oil over the surface of the dough and sprinkle with garlic and oregano.
  2. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the garlic is browned and the dough is crispy. The crust should almost be done to almost the point of burning.

Now, you will need my Easy Pizza Crust Recipe, mozzarella cheese and whatever you want for toppings.  Make sure to buy a block of cheese and grate it yourself; so much better than the kind that is already shredded.

To be honest, at times the only topping I want is cheese (and extra sauce of course).  Chop up some fresh basil and add that as a topping; even a sliced tomato is something I love to add too.
